A moody and soulful country song with alt-rock inflections. Guitar has a bluesy rhythm during its verses, with multiple slide guitar sections, fuzzy synth-like distortion in its riffs, and two solos (including one that is about half the length of the song). Bass starts like a heartbeat and finds itself swelling and oscillating throughout the song, with several climactic slides and riffs towards the end. Drums are much more laid back through the majority of the song, with some deceptive kick and open hi-hat placements, before ending on a disco-inspired beat by the end.
